Wow! In the past year since I have posted, my life has dramatically changed! I now have my precious grandson, Landen. He is an absolute joy. The kids moved to my town back in January and Landen was born in March. I have enjoyed being with the three of them beyond my dreams!
Jacob works hard to provide for his little family. I am so proud of him! He is such a sweet daddy. Oh he is still my crazy, funny, mommy's boy (who no doubt drives Brittany crazy)but he is such a charmer!
Brittany is perfect for Jacob mainly because she doesn't put up with any of his crap! She is incredibly beautiful (not that it matters... it's just nice that she is) She has become a very dear friend. I depend on her for so much and trust her with everything. She is absolutely what I prayed my daughter-in-law would be. Even more wonderfully than that, however is that she is an amazing mother.
She takes care of Landen perfectly, but goes beyond that. She loves him passionately, fiercely. She jokes with him already so it is clear she will not be too overprotective or too demanding of him. He is being raised in a happy healthy home where she cleans, makes his baby food fresh, plays with him in tummy time, reads to him, and calms him when noone else can. Ok maybe she is not perfect, but I haven't found the flaw yet.
Landen is four months old now and the love of my life. I do indeed understand all the sayings about having grandchildren. You just thought you loved your own kids, but then you have grand kids. I relive moments of my own babies' lives. He is just like Jacob was in one way, but just like Uncle Josh in another. He smiles with the most beautiful dimples... one more pronounced than the other. He is beginning to laugh when tickled and with peek-a-boo.
What a blessing God has given to allow me to be surrounded by these three loves after being away from my kids for so long.
